Floor survey

Erik took up a couple feet of our brick tile to make sure the subfloor was in decent shape. Our contractor is happy to let Erik (and friends) do a bunch of the demo work for the remodel to save us a ton of money on labor, but he wanted to make sure we all knew what was under the brick tile so he would be prepared for the kind of prep work involved before laying new tile. Erik was happy to oblige and had some fun the other day while Keagan and I left the house for a while. I then put a little gate around the pulled up tile so a certain little toddler wouldn't go poking around the area. Our contractor has since come to visit and is happy with the condition of the subfloor. One potentially scary result concured- about 115 more to go!

How exciting, I'm your first comment! Remodeling is fun and also very frustrating, but so worth it. It took 3 months to do our bathroom, and I just got tired of people in the house everyday, but now I'm so glad we did it. Kristin should start a remodeling blog too....they are also going to do a huge project on Hayes Way. Looking forward to seeing the progress!

Congrats on the remodeling!!! It brings back memories of our first addition, that was about 8-9 years ago now! Our kitchen gutting should be starting soon! And the whole back wall coming off our house, and a master bath in our bedroom, and a closet for Emma in her bedroom!Oh what fun! I think I renting those PODS to put things in for onsite storage! We can comiserate with eachother!!
